Money Honey – State of Shock (3:18): Another award-winning band, from Vancouver Canada. Three sprints, one at each chorus: 25 seconds, 40 seconds, 40 seconds. Make them count!
I Don’t Need a Man – The Pussycat Dolls (3:39): A slow, grinding climb – tension at 8/10.
Hey Julie – Fountains of Wayne (2:37): One of the sweetest love songs in a long time. You’ll find yourself humming it later. Do some lifts, 8 counts, then 4 counts, then 2 counts, switching after each chorus.
U+Ur Hand – P!nk (3:34): Hey, who can you love if you can’t love yourself? Surely one of the best sprinting songs out there. This is a fast climb, tension at 5/10, with standing sprints at each chorus – give ‘er! (3x – 30 sec., 30 sec. and 60 seconds to the end).
Raspberry Beret – Prince (3:33) More lifts, 8/4/2 counts, changing after each chorus. It’s impossible to be unhappy while listening to this song.
Second Chance – Faber Drive (3:38 ) A radio-friendly Canadian band from Mission, B.C. Do some single leg/lead leg drills 6x 30 seconds – tension as high as you can make it and still spin to the beat of the song. Recovery for the last 38 seconds.
Tongue Tied – Faber Drive (3:33): Turn up the music and sprint during each chorus! 3x 27 sec., 27 sec., 50 sec. and sprint it out to the end.
Here In Your Arms – Hellogoodbye (4:03): I often offer my class a freestyle song near the end – they can follow what I do, or do their own thing. It’s a chance to get out whatever extra energy they have or add a drill they don’t feel they’ve had enough of.
Hey There Delilah – Plain White T’s (3:53): Cooldown with this hard-working Grammy-nominated Chicago band.
You’re Beautiful – James Blunt (3:33): A bit of extra cool down time with the most ubiquitous love song of the last five years.
